A piebald deer at our home

Highland Dell, Corvallis, Oregon

We had at least five fawns join the menagerie at our home in the Spring of 2023. This was a bumper crop. One of the fawns had coloring we had not seen before. With a bit of research we learned that this coloring is due to a rare genetic variation, as low as 1 in 30,000, found in deer and some other animals. This photo album is a selection of photos intended to capture our piebald's changes over time. We have named her/him 'Frosty'.
