• The maps at the beginning of each album show the approximate routes we travelled for each day's explorations. This route took us to Les Baux-de-Provence and Saint-Paul de Mausole.

• Les Baux-de-Provence is a walled hill town. Near the town is the former bauxite ore quarry that now hosts Les Carriéres de Lumiéres.

• Bauxite, aluminum ore, takes its name from this village.

• The contemporary stained glass windows by the artist Max Ingrand were a gift from Prince Ranier III of Monaco.

• In this event, the quarry walls surrounding us displayed continuously changing images of Venice while calming music played.

• Upon leaving Les Baux, we drove to the village of Saint-Rémy. It was on 8 May 1889 that van Gogh voluntarily entered the asylum of St. Paul near Saint-Rémy. Saint-Paul, an Augustine monastery established in the 12th century, was converted to an asylum in the 19th century.
