The island of Capri (pronounced CAP-ree, accent on the first syllable), is located in the Tyrrhenian Sea about two miles off the tip of the Sorrentine Peninsula. After sailing from the port of Sorrento, we anchored in Capri's Marina Grande and toured the main city (also named Capri) and gardens before sailing on to Sicily. Capri has been a resort since the time of the Roman Republic and today is known as a haven for the rich and famous. Capri must import its water from the mainland.
