Portugal: Óbidos

Óbidos sits atop a hill surrounded by a 14th century wall. It was founded by Celts about 300 BC, then ruled by Romans, Visigoths, and Moors. It is connected to a nearby spring by a 16th century aqueduct. Since 1951, Óbidos has been preserved as a national monument.
