The red and grey barrier in the foreground is part of the system built to protect Antwerp's old town from flooding. With the expected impact of global climate change, it is no longer considered to be high enough. A new and higher wall is planned. The tower in the background is the 400 foot high spire of the Cathedral of Our Lady, Antwerp's biggest church.
