The Museum of Fine Arts Boston owns what is considered to be the largest collection of Japanese art outside of Japan. Most of the collection was donated by William Sturgis Bigelow and Arthur Fenollosa. Arthur Fenollosa, nephew of architect Lyman Silsbee, undoubtedly met Frank Lloyd Wright and influenced his passion for Japanese print collecting when Wright worked as a draftsman for Silsbee.
