• Cromwell is located across Lake Dunstan from our viewpoint. The lake was formed by the damming of the Clutha River. This required parts of the town of Cromwell to be relocated to higher ground. The lake was filled in 1992-93.

• Arrowtown is a charming small town near Queenstown that sprung to life during the 1862 gold rush. It is also the home of our guide, Ian Wooster.

• From Arrowtown we travelled to the Kawarau River gorge.

• This is AJ Hackett's Bungee Jumping Center on the Kawarau River. Hackett pioneered adventure bungee jumping and is still a leading provider of this adrenaline rush. Ian said it would be a huge embarassment for him to report to his colleagues that none of our tour group would try it.
