The Collins Family

Kathy and Doug are "empty nesters" dividing time between the home they built in 2003 in Corvallis, Oregon, and the home they built in 2014 in Bend, Oregon.

Doug retired from Hewlett-Packard in May 2005 after 26 years. He enjoys his ham radio and photography hobbies and doing projects around the house. Hiking, skiing, and golf continue to be his outdoor activities of choice.

Kathy continues to enjoy her architecture hobby through travels to see architectural sites and by volunteering at Frank Lloyd Wright's Gordon House in Silverton, Oregon as a docent and a member of the Education Committee. She also enjoys alphabet book collecting and her many arts and crafts hobbies: decorating, gardening, designing and making note cards and gifts, and quilting.

With retirement, Kathy and Doug are traveling as much as possible. They have enjoyed travels both within the United States and to other parts of the world. Many of their travels are documented in the photo albums on this web site.

Jeff, after more than twenty years, is now retired from his work on the grounds crew at Trysting Tree Golf Club. He keeps busy with his membership in Kiwanis that includes volunteering for many of their fund-raising activities, participating in Special Olympics sports, and volunteering at the Benton County Historical Society Museum in Corvallis. He continues to live in his own home near downtown Corvallis.

Brian completed his work on the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service, chartered by the U.S. Congress, in April 2020. The Commission released its final report with recommendations to Congress that included proposed legislation. His next stop was as the Legislative Director for Jackie Speier, the now retired U.S. Representative for California's 14th congressional district that includes San Francisco and northern San Mateo County. Thus, he achieved his long-time goal of working on Capitol Hill. He is now working at the Pentagon in the Office of the Undersecretary for Defense for Personnel and Readiness where he is helping to implement a number of the policies included in legislation passed by Congress to improve the health and lives of our women and men in uniform and their families. He continues to enjoy living in Washington D.C.
